You
can see in these pics that when I am really trying to help myself out I
put tape on all the packaging to assist in opening. Also you'll notice
that I dont have to tear into the IV kit, all the supplies can be opened
and removed when the are still bundeled together. Thus keeping my shit
in one place.

That's about it for the emergency flap. This is my nonemergency side.

As
you can see, the bag is a sort of trifold design. This allows quick and
easy access to everything. Also, the bag holds more than you'd think.
It's storing a lot of bulky trauma supplies.



Here's the entire contents. A few changes were made since the photos. They'll be listed shortly.

Let's start with the stuff for minor injuries. From bottom to top:

10 - Butterfly closures
5 - Pairs of gloves
12 - Iodine preps
12 - Alcohol preps
12 - 2 Pack 2X2 inch surgical sponges (a fancy name for gauze squares)
1 oz. Hydrocortizone cream
0.5 oz. Bacitracin antibiotic ointment
10 - Bandaids in 2 waterproof packages
1 - Forceps
1 - Safety pin

- Bandages (Upper right - Frankly, I don't know what they're called.
You apply them directly over a flesh wound. They stick for a solid two
weeks, even through water, and act like a second skin for that time.
They're outstanding).



Here's
the more serious trauma stuff. I spent more space on that, since
injuries that require major trauma bandages and dressings are more
likely to kill me than injuries that require Bandaids.

3 - Kerlix (4.5 in x 4.1 yd)
2 - Muslin bandages (cravats)
2 - 4x6.25 camouflaged field dressings
2 - Israeli dressings (full sized, not the smaller ones)
1 - SAM splint. (I tried really, really hard to cram two of these in there, but alas)
2 - Coban rolls (self-sticking wrap. Very bulky, but the stuff rocks)

- Stretch wrap (I can honestly say that a SAM splint plus this
stuff=win. I tossed the smaller one just today to make room for one more
roll of Duratape.)
2 - Duratape medical tape (I replaced the smaller stretch wrap with a second tape)
1 - One handed tourniquet
1 - Penrose drain (can double as a second tourniquet)
1 - Epipen (stuck in PAW closet, no longer in kit)

Pues
las aspirinas tienen su peligro si no se utilizan bien. Yo tendria
cuiado con lo que meto en mi mochila... bueno sí, las tiritas no creo
que sean demasiado peligrosas.

el equipo que lleva el colega imagino que no llevará el superglu para
utilizarlo para cerrar una herida, sino como ayuda para otros usos
auxiliares al equipo médico.

Este botiquín lo he puesto no
por la cantidad de material sino por su tipología pues si os fijáis
tiene mucho de lo que hemos ido hablando por aquí: la férula sam splint,
los vensajes israelíes, el quikclot, el desinfectante de manos...

Los
grandes son botiquines grupales para varias personas. Además habrás
visto que los hay militares, de rescate, personales... LA idea es hacer
una recopilación similar a la que hizo Pictolino, pero de los que
varamos viendo por ahí.
Muchos vienen del foro ZS, es decir del
Zombi Squad (Patrulla Zombi), una especie de agrupación de frikis de
gente que la gustan las pelis de ciencia-ficción y que dedican su tiempo
libre a prepararse para defenderse de las fuerzas invasoras ¿? Cosas de
yankis. Los tienes aquí

Me parecen buenísimos, pero para usar alguno de ellos tienes que tener carrera, la de medicina concretamente.
Seguro que aquí posteais uno más "llevadero".
De
nada me sirve llevar hilo de oro para cirugia estética si no sé usarlo,
como decia el compañero, tiritas, que no tienen contraindicaciones.

Bueno
ya había advertido cuándo empecé, que este post que se salía un poco de
lo normal pues trata de hacer una galería de botiquines "chulos" más
que botiquines "útiles" pues partíamos de la idea de que de todos
podemos sacar buenas ideas. A muchos de nosotros que nos gustan las
equipacionrd y que hemos pasado (y seguimos haciéndolo todavía) horas y
horas pensando en cómo mejorar o adaptar nuestro botiquín personal
añadiendo o quitando cosas, al final desarrollas una especie de afición
por mirar los equipos de otras personas, cómo los organizan, que llevan
etc.
Por supuesto que la mayoría de los que por aquí aparecen son
irrealista para nuestros casos pero como digo están puestos para cumplir
la doble finalidad de aprender cosas nuevas (que sí se puedan adaptar a
nuestros casos), y porqué no también alimentar nuestra afición voyeur.

Otro
botiquín militar. Esta vez no es de ningún médico o enfermero sino de
un sanitario (soldado con nociones básicas de primeros auxilios) Como
podréis ver es muy pequeño en comparación con lo que suelen llevar los
médicos. Unas pocas vendas, algún medicamento que otro (incluidos
inyectables) unos pocos instrumentos médicos y una camilla de tela
plegable. Puede ser válido para dar cobertura de urgencia a unas 4-6
personas.

MTC (Multi Trauma Case)

The
Multi Trauma Case (MTC) is an EMS grade medical kit. It is capable
of supporting care for injuries ranging from minor to major trauma
and life threatening injuries. It is a scaled down version of the
(AMTC) shown above. The kit includes equipment for airway
management, bleeding control, splinting, joint injuries, eye
injuries, blood glucose sustainment, dehydration management, and
thermal emergencies. This kit was designed to be rugged, and
compact, without sacrificing capability. Even though this kit is
capable of supporting the care of serious injuries, it is perfect for
those with basic first aid knowledge.

you can see, the flag is facing the correct way, my name is on it,
there is the ZS Medic patch, and a highspeed medical patch.

call the front flap the emergency flap. Almost everything I need for
emergency medicine should be located here. This is kind of the over

2 18ga cathathers (for NS or LR it is 1 14ga and 1 18 ga, soldier's veins can usually handle a 14)
2 prep pads
2 gloves
1 tubing set
1 Tegaderm
1 2x2 (or 4x4)
1 constricting band
1 Saline Lock/Heplock
You
can see in these pics that when I am really trying to help myself out I
put tape on all the packaging to assist in opening. Also you'll notice
that I dont have to tear into the IV kit, all the supplies can be opened
and removed when the are still bundeled together. Thus keeping my shit
in one place.

That's about it for the emergency flap. This is my nonemergency side.

, estan mu bien los botiquines tacticos que has puesto... a mi me ha
llamado especialmente la atencion la del botiquin tactico individual
que has colgado la imagen.
Esta pensado para el control de las
hemorragias por parte del mismo soldado por eso lleva un torniquete tipo
cat (que es ese velcro negro con una especie de palito, esta
diseñado para que te lo puedas poner tu mismo si estas herido con una
sola mano). os dejo el enlace por si os interesa:

Tambien
lleva un hemostático en polvo, estos son muy buenos pero su precio es
bastante alto (esa bolsita de celox vale 30 eurazos) pero te asegura el
control de hemorragias bastante fuertes os dejo un enlace sobre su

Bueno
amigos, a mi parecer como buen hijo de cirujano que soy (y ex aspirante
a serlo) les digo que al igual que las armas, refugios, comida etc hay
que evaluar las situaciones para las que se necesita el botiquin.
Hay los muy basicos que son para tenerlos en el auto o casa. (ocurrida la emergencia se corre al centro medico mas cercano)
Basicos que son para escurciones al campo, en los que podria demorar la ayuda medica.
Semi profesionales para aquellos que hacen escaladas a nevados, deportes de aventuras o exrtremos, etc.
Y profesionales
que son los que son exclusivamente para rescate (en situacion de
guerra, altmar, conciertos, atentados terroristas etc. y que casi
simepre pertencen al gobierno o una isntitucion medica).
Los que he visto aqui al ser del ejercito son en su mayoria de botiquines de Rescate.
Tambien
habria que pensar que como van las cosas del clima en estos dias, seria
conveniente tener un buen botiquin en casa y uno medio para salir al
campo. (tener en cuenta cantidad de miembors de la familia y/o
afecciones cronicas o regulares que sufran cada integrante).
Está
demas decirles que la mayoria de medicamentos se malogran de 20ºC para
arriba, asi qeu hay que tenerlos en un ambiente protegido, ademas de
verificar la fecha de caducida (la mayoria aun se pueden usar un par de
meses despues de su caducidad).
